At your first massage, you’ll complete a health history form and address any of your concerns and goals with your massage therapist. Allow for extra time and please arrive 15 minutes early before your scheduled appointment.

You will be properly covered or draped at all times to keep you warm and comfortable. Only the area being worked on will be exposed. No areas will be exposed without your consent. Always be sure to let your therapist know if you are uncomfortable for any reason during your massage session.

Undress down to your comfort level, either completely unclothed as you will be draped properly, or down to your underwear to allow the therapist to perform full range of motion and stretching.

If you are using massage therapy as preventative care or to manage daily stress, one massage a month is sufficient. Weekly sessions may be desirable if you are receiving massage for injury relief or to relieve chronic tightness that is interfering with your daily life. But for optimal therapeutic relief up to twice a month is common. Your massage therapist will work with you after your first appointment to put together a care plan tailored to your specific needs and health goals.
